Today we are excited to announce that we have released the ST Resorts SobiPro Template to our Members. This template has been in production for just over 6 weeks, and I'm happy to say, it's ready for you to download and install.
We've built a lot of new features into this template powered by jQuery. We use this javascript framework because it's already used by the SobiPro directory, so it makes sense to stick with the same script instead of adding more. Even with all the features, we only added about 30KB of code to run it all.
While the template is geared toward Vacation Rentals, it could easily be used for other types of service businesses that offer product or service packages. Here's just a few of the features included.
What the heck does that mean? It means when a User checks a few boxes, then icon images show up in the entry. Using our template, a savvy website Admin could easily change the icons out to suit your specific needs, or add more icons to the mix.
This could easily be changed to list products or services with a nice slide feature. There are currently 5 of them in the Rooms and Rates tab, but you could add more if need be. All the images are linked together so visitors can easily click from one to the next in the lightbox, and the title of each room shows in the lightbox as well.
The Location tab has a built in Driving Directions box that allows visitors to input their street address and click a button to get google map directions from door to door. We've also included support for the SP-GeoMap Field App to show a Google Map in the listing automatically based on the Entry's street address.
The Photos tab features a beautiful JQuery slider with thumbnail navigation. There are several options for slide effects and auto-start, and we will post a separate tutorial for club members on how to change these settings. Thanks to the great folks at Dev 7 Studios for this bit of slippery goodness.
The same Social Media sharing icons are integrated into the RT Resorts template that we use in the SobiPro BizTabs template. Using the ITP Share Module for Joomla, it allows you to add all the most popular social sharing buttons your visitors will ever need. Helping to boost your directory listings through social media is always a good thing.
